Research from Duke shows that the “healthy” option should be the default. In the study, the choice of whether to have a “healthy option” or to take the default unhealthy option is unchanged even when statistics are provided.
This correlation can also be seen in the countries that have their organ donation option set to a default “yes”. Those countries have a much higher rate of organ donation than the countries that force the user to make a decision.
